Book Groups

There are four book groups reading fiction and/or non-fiction, so look for one that suits your schedule and location. Each group is comprised of 12-15 members to keep the conversations focused.

Several months in advance, groups select books to be read. Some groups have formal discussion leaders; other groups are much less informal. All groups have fun engaging in lively discussions. Here are the details:

First Tuesday Book Group: Filled to capacity. Meets at Hale’s Brewery & Pub for lunch and discussion.

Third Wednesday – Readers Choice Book Group: For discussions, members open their homes on a rotating basis, or the group may meet at a restaurant.

Third Thursday Book Group: Members open their homes on a rotating basis for discussions with a BYO sack lunch.

Non-Fiction Book Group: The second Thursday of the month finds this group at a NW Seattle restaurant.

Book titles selected months in advance will be  posted on the Book Selections tab under Club Activities on the private Member Only Site. For groups that do not select several months in advance, check the newsletter for the titles and meeting place for the next meeting. Contact the group coordinator for more information and to join.

If you are interested in other genres such as detective stories, mysteries, science fiction, or fantasy, start a group! With over 100 active Newcomers, there are bound to be members who want to share their love of books too. Contact the Vice President/Activity Director for guidance in starting another book group.
